In a seamless tee the body is formed without a longitudinal weld, which gives a smooth internal surface and uniform mechanical properties—helpful where flow characteristics and strength are important. These fittings are typically used as butt-weld tees to be welded directly to matching pipes.

What a seamless tee is and how it is used

A seamless tee joins three sections of pipe: one inlet, one outlet and one branch at 90°.
